Yoga for Trauma Release (PTSD, TBI, Trauma & Stress)
These sessions are for people that know yoga can help them release the past and heal. Being a certified trauma informed yoga teacher, I can give you the space you need to feel safe and protected. I will teach you how to get back in touch with your breath and give you the tools you need to release trauma from your body.
Typically done as 3 separate sessions that are 90 minutes each.
Take Back Your Life
We will begin by discussing the mind/body connection and explore why we must address our emotions if we want to change our lives for the better. Learn that there is so much more to yoga than just the asana (poses). Then we dive deep into Pranayama (yoga breathing). Learn how different breathing techniques can change our mood, our energy and our health. Specific techniques will be taught based on your needs. Your session will end with a Restorative yoga practice, a deeply healing and relaxing practice based on stillness. You will surrender into completely supported poses with very little movement. Sound Healing through the use of crystal bowls will allow you to heal on multiple levels. Best for healing injuries, reducing stress and overcoming fatigue. You will release stress stored deep within the body and leave feeling renewed and recharged.
Heal the Past, Live the Present, Dream the Future
In this powerful session, we will discuss the impact of stress, tension and trauma on our physical body as well as the mind. We will discuss the Anxiety Cycle and learn how to take our power back. Then we will explore a restorative practice that helps us to learn where in our body we are storing our past stress and tension. We will take a journey beyond the physical body. Dive deeper within to access the energy body, the emotional body, the level of knowing beyond the processing mind and finally arrive in the bliss body known as Ananda. This will be a deeply healing and relaxing practice based on stillness. You will surrender into completely supported poses with very little movement. Escape the Cage Trauma Locked you in
We will start by learning the importance of the Psoas, which Taoist healers refer to as “the muscle of the soul”. Based on the wisdom of Peter Levin, PhD and David Bercelli, PhD. Kalyani will create a safe environment to surrender past trauma without having to mentally re-live or recall the trauma we are releasing. Discover how a tight Psoas affects the breathing, which in turn affects our mood, emotions and overall health. Experience a practice designed to exhaust the Psoas (always working at a comfortable pace for you). Then, we will complete the experience with Yoga Nidra or “Yogic sleep” which is extremely healing on all levels. It is a wonderful practice that guides the mind and body into total relaxation where you can access a deeper level of inner awareness. Here you will release unwanted habits, tensions and self-limiting beliefs. Increase your body’s capacity for self-healing and awaken to your greatest inner potential.
