Kalyani’s journey into yoga and healing began 25 years ago, deeply inspired by the lotus flower—a powerful symbol of rebirth, resilience, and the ability to rise clean and beautiful from muddy waters.
Her own experience with early childhood trauma led to dis-ease in her body. At just 18, she was diagnosed with the autoimmune condition ulcerative colitis. One year later, the disease threatened her life, requiring radical, life-saving surgery and a month-long hospital stay. In the years that followed, she endured ongoing medications, multiple surgeries, and mounting feelings of anxiety, hopelessness, and depression.
When her trust in conventional medical approaches faded, Kalyani was compelled to look deeper and explore paths beyond medication. This turning point led her to acknowledge the profound connection between her emotions and physical well-being.
In seeking to heal her body, she discovered her soul’s true purpose: to help others move through darkness and reclaim their wholeness. She became fascinated by the body’s remarkable capacity to heal—when supported by the mind and spirit—on every level of being.
Over the years, Kalyani has remained an insatiable student of yoga, continually evolving her practice. She has developed a distinctive, ever-changing style that weaves together all her studies and personal growth. Her unique specialty lies in seeing each student as a whole and complete being, fully capable of self-healing; she serves simply as their compassionate guide.
Kalyani specializes in helping students transition from injury to recovery through heightened awareness of how the mind influences the body. Witnessing the transformative power of movement and subtle energies to release stored trauma inspired her to study Reiki, where she attained Master level in Shamballa Reiki.
