No experience necessary. Learn some basic yoga postures to help you feel better. Gain strength and flexibility while moving in your comfortable range of motion.
Yoga for Better Sleep (Yoga Nidra)
This practice is like a deep sleep while you are still awake. There is no physical effort at all. If you can breathe, you can do this practice! Rest your mind and body supported by props as you are guided on a journey within. Great for insomnia, stress and to simply recharge.
30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 3 hours of conventional sleep!
We can also add this on to any other session.
Example: 60 minute Gentle Flow with 30 minute Yoga Nidra at the end.
Trauma Release Sessions (PTSD, TBI, Trauma & Stress)
These sessions are for people that know yoga can help them release the past and heal. Being a certified trauma teacher, I can give you the space you need to feel safe and protected. I will teach you how to get back in touch with your breath and give you the tools you need to release trauma from your body.
Typically done as 3 separate sessions that are120 minutes each-
Session 1- Take Back Your Life
Session 2- Heal the Past, Live the Present, Dream the Future
Session 3- Escape the Cage Trauma Locked you in
Aromatherapy, Sound Healing and Reiki can be incorporated into this deeply healing and relaxing practice based on stillness. You will surrender completely into supported postures, with very little movement. Best for healing injuries, reducing stress, and overcoming fatigue. You will release stress stored deep within the body and leave feeling renewed and recharged.
Therapeutic Yoga (Yoga as Medicine)
A class that is specifically designed to work with your body. Postures that are geared towards healing an injury or illness you are working on. May include alternative healing modalities in addition to your yoga postures. We dive deep into the emotional root cause of your suffering. Through awareness we can find our path back to wellbeing.
The word "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "rei" (universal) and "ki" (life energy). Reiki is a type of energy healing. A session can be either 30 or 60 minutes. Where you simply lay, fully clothed, as I place my hands lightly on or over specific areas of your body for between 2 and 5 minutes.
According to the University of Minnesota, patients who have undergone a Reiki session report:
"I feel very refreshed and seem to be thinking more clearly."
"I can't believe how hot your hands got!"
"I feel more relaxed than even after a massage."
"My headache is gone."
Therapeutic in nature. Moving at a perfectly slower pace you will be able to connect more deeply with every posture. Expect lots of relaxing deep stretches as well as meditative and breathing techniques. Stress and tension will simply melt away.
Still gentle and healing in this session we begin to explore standing postures as well. Your breath will be your guide as you flow from one pose to the next. Slowly warming the body, then diving deep into more flexibility, and finally releasing the tension and stress in the mind.
This session will get your heart pumping but then use the breath to calm it back down. Perfect for increasing your strength and flexibility. After all of your hard work, there is a yummy deep relaxation at the end.
Take your yoga practice onto the water. Enjoy the added challenge of balancing on your paddle board. Take in the fresh air as you flow through a practice that helps you feel strong, balanced and peaceful.
